"None" Payment Method

Hi, all-

I am working in analytics with the finance cube, specifically the transaction amount and payment method fields.

Can someone explain what the payment method "none" is?

Thanks so much!

  • Hi Rachel,

You'll find "(none)" littered throughout Tessitura Analytics. It's a placeholder value for any data field that doesn't relate to another piece of data within the scope of your filters. In this case, any transactional data that hasn't been filtered out, and that isn't directly associated with a payment method, is going to be lumped under a payment method of (none). If you want to limit your results to only transactions that are associated with payment methods, then you would filter out, or exclude, the (none) payment method.

You'll find similar replacement values for dates as 1900-01-01, for numerics as 0, for "flag" fields (e.g. Season Active Flag) as "N", and for unique identifiers (e.g. Constituent ID or Package Seat Key) as -999999.

    Best,
    Chris
