Holiday sales reporting

Hi

We are trying to build a dashboard to get a historical understanding of our Thanksgiving week sales. Since the date of Thanksgiving changes year to year, the only solution we have come up with is to look up the dates for each year and then filter by performance code to get the performances for the past several years on those dates. Is there a better way to do this? To select “Thanksgiving week” or “Memorial Day Weekend” as the date range?

  • Hi Jess,

I recommend going ahead with the selection of the individual dates. You can certainly clear the list and then scroll through checking the selection for each day in each historical holiday week. Another approach to that would be to:

    1. Go to the List view for the date filter and just select a couple of dates, doesn't matter which.
    2. Go to the Advanced view
    3. Copy, paste and update to populate the complete set of holidates (no comma after the last entry)

Either way you approach it, you can Favorite the filter selection and give it a friendly name for easy filtering in the future on other dashboards:

It is also possible to customize Analytics to include a date descriptions as you've described, and I can loop someone into a conversation with you about that if you'd like.

    Best,
    Chris
