Hi friends: I’ve got two questions on a subscriber dashboard.
Here’s how I currently get my total # of subscriber households. Is there a way to do it by constituency code? Or is there a better way (though I know we may all configured differently)?
And how can I show more than one year in a widget? I’d like to put this into a bar chart format comparing previous years. How have you done that?
New to this so you may need to speak slowly.
Hi Will,
I also use # of unique constituent ID for subscriber count - I believe I saw it recommended on another thread. I haven't used constituency codes for any widgets yet, but I believe they work best when filtered at the Text level rather than the list level, since many constituents have different combos of codes. You would also surround it with commas so your filter would look something like:
For year-over-year comparisons, I have a line chart that I adore, with the following settings:
You should be able to use this as a jumping point for your bar graph.
P.S. Any of the "time period since onsale" filters pull the start date from the performance level Default Sale Dates. I ended up going back through past seasons to clean these up to match our on-sale dates, as they were occasionally set to their original build dates (weeks before on-sale). Definitely worth the effort!
Thank you so much for your reply! Very helpful. I'm working on the method you recommended for a count of HH by constituency code- great tip to include the commas, but I can't get the widget to display as just an indicator or a count of households. It will only display as a pivot table Any hints on how to get just a number? And thanks for the YOY settings. Just what I needed!
You can change your visualization type from within your widget designer in the upper left hand corner - there is a drop-down menu that should allow you to change your current selection of "Pivot" to any of the other types. Heads up that since some visualization types allow you to have more fields than others, and if you change your type to one that has less (like an indicator) it might take away some of the formulas you have set up...but you can always hit Cancel to start over and get a freebie refresh.
Thanks so much! I had been doing that, but I just realized that when I switch from one visualization type to another, it can clear some formulas, like you said! So I'm getting a number now, but it's about half of the total subs HH that I know I have.
I could keep digging at this, but it is starting to sound like const. code isn't the best way to get to total subs HH.
That's fine, but we do use constituency codes for other uses so I feel like I might be circling back to this issue of wanting to get a total # of individuals or HH by a const. code.
