Reporting on Subscription Revenue accurately

Hi everyone -

Our subscription dashboards are currently built to pull in revenue based on Ticket Original Paid Amount, in order to take exchanges into consideration.  However, in the wake of COVID-19 and cancellations, using that data point could technically overstate our subscription revenue now.  Using Ticket Paid Amount might understate our revenue because not all subscribers have requested refunds or a different type of return request.

Has anyone else started puzzling through this?

Thanks!

  • Hi Kari,

Would it work to filter out whole performance or production season cancellations? Or if the status of these events has been set to Cancelled, adding a dashboard filter to exclude that status?

Alternatively, as Joe has suggested, one could deduct from the Total Original Paid Amount, the Original Paid Amount associated with Void in This/Other Order SLI Statuses within those cancelled performances using a filtered value formula. This SLI Status approach implies an assumption that all VTO/VOO for those package performance tickets within cancelled performances are returns and not exchanges.
