Reporting on Number of Performances by Zone Time in Analytics

Hello everyone,

We are trying to migrate our old reports out of TStats and into Analytics. One of the numbers we need is a total count of all showings of each show in our Omni Theater by month. We have one Omni performance for each show every day, and we enable or disable zone times according to the showtimes for that day. In TStats, we used to use the Tickets Cube, which had a measure called "Num Perfs." This allowed us to get a number of showings by zone time for each show that month. We are trying to rebuild this in Analytics, and are unable to find anything quite like "Num Perfs" as a data type or a function. We have found "Count Performances Past Year," but the resulting numbers are way too high. We suspect that it is counting every instance of the performance and all zones, whether they are enabled or disabled. What we're really trying to do is count the number of enabled zones across all performances for a each show by month. Has anyone else run into this particular challenge and have any insights?

  • Try using the COUNT function?  As in, Count([Zone Time]).

    We don't use Zone Times, but conceptually, this would be similar to your TStats layout.

    You could change the name of the Values wording to "Num Perfs."

    Thanks for responding. I've tried variations on COUNT([Zone]), which gives me a value of 1 for each unique performance and DUPCOUNT([zone]), which seems to be counting all paid (but not unpaid) tickets in that zone - I think.

    I was trying to work with [Count Performances Past Year], since it sounded from the name like that counted performances and not tickets, but my numbers are still off. The closest i've come is Count([Count Performances Past Year]), which seems to put my numbers in the right ballpark, but some are high and some are low.

  • Performances Past Year appears to be in the Constituent table. This will only count the performances that had purchased tickets. 

    To get all of the original performance count, you could try changing your Values formula to count performance ID's.

    You could also duplicate your Values and then change it to count performance ID's.
