This may not be an analytics question, but I can't find the search function that I swear was right here last week.
I'm trying to recreate a very basic report from a legacy system. It has five columns: Fund, Fiscal Current Offset -1 Revenue, Budget, Fiscal Current Offset 0 Revenue, and Difference.
The Finance Cube is proving difficult for me, however, and I'm struggling to recreate. Ideally, I'd like to do a Pivot, with Fund as the row, Transaction Amount and (I'm leaning) Total Campaign Goal Amount as Values, and Fiscal Year as Column.
This leads me to two issues. First, all the revenue is cancelling out. I'm not sure why. Or how to make it stop. Second, I can't figure out what on Earth Total Campaign Goal Amount is pulling. It doesn't seem related to the goal in my Campaign.
Help?
Total Campaign Goal is a doozy when you first dive in to Analytics. Check out this post and the answers from Chris Wallingford on it -- it's primarily about Performance Goal, but the technique applies to Campaigns as well. https://community.tessituranetwork.com/topical_groups/tessitura-analytics-for-marketing-and-ticketing-operations-tamato/f/discussions/23105/budget-amount-not-showing-what-is-expected/65658As for the Revenue, what do you mean by it's canceling out?
My revenues are reporting at 0, I think because I'm in the Finance Cube, so it's doing accounting (money goes into the Payment Method and out to the GL, so I see a +$200 and a -$200 for a $200 transaction). When I break by GL, that seems to be what's happening. So I might be fixing that by filtering GLs.
Alternatively, maybe I need to use a value other than Transaction Amount.
I just tried to do up this same pivot in the Finance Cube and my revenue is also canceling out. I've done most of my campaign/fund reporting in the Contributions Cube -- I'd recommend that.
In the Finance Cube - have you looked at Contribution amount (gifts) and Contribution Balance amount (pledges unpaid)... not sure how the legacy data is stored.
Filtering GLs also works - I have done that a few times (filter out all your "cash" accounts)
