Double Parenthesis (in Red) in Reports

Hello,

This may be a very basic reporting question and better suited for the "Ticketing and Customer Service" forum.

For the Ticket Sales by Period report (Category: price type), there are numbers in red with a double parenthesis (see below). Does anyone know what this indicates?

I thought it may be related to exchanges, however, this only reflected in two of the performances.

Thanks!

  • Parentheses around a number are an accounting convention, indicating that the value should be subtracted from the ledger instead of added to it. As Maery said, you can think about it as a negative value.

However, double parentheses do not conform to accounting conventions, and I think it is likely that this is a formatting defect in the report that you should raise with TASK. In fact, I would bet that whoever wrote the report was manually adding the parentheses formatting to negative values in the tkts column, and also added the same manual formatting rule to the amt column, without realizing that InfoMaker already does negative-parentheses formatting with money datatypes. Hence, two sets of parentheses when there should be only one.
