Who develops dashboards?

We’ve just moved to V15 recently and are beginning to delve into dashboard/analytics.  As an institution, we’re wondering how others decided who creates dashboards and who doesn’t.  We know that IT will modify the cubes, as needed.  But when it comes to designing dashboards from those cubes, does that fall solely to IT, are a few super users involved, do you release it to the wild and let everyone have it or do you use a hybrid of these options?  Any feedback would be appreciated.  Thanks so much.

  • Hi Heather,

We're a fairly small organization as far as staff goes (about 25 in administration spread out over 8 departments) and, as the database manager, I'm the only one currently creating dashboards and managing analytics on the whole. I am working with our box office and development departments to tweak dashboards and slowly get them up to speed on how to start creating but I'm meeting some resistance since some people's brains just don't jive with how to build dashboards, especially in comparison to how Tstats operate.

The hope is to get superusers up and running in the next couple of months so that departments can explore on their own (with guidance, should they want it).
