Year-to-Date Sum function on Contributions

I'm building a dashboard for our online contributions and want to include a widget using the Year to date Sum function. It's working fine on a ticketing dashboard that I've built but having real issues getting it to work on Contribution Amount, has anyone got the function to work on the contributions cube?

I think this post will help you. It's not related to the Contributions cube but I used the same advanced formula and it worked well for contributions!
