Hello!
I am trying to graph the number of patrons that have certain attributes. In my case, I have various attributes for the types of groups in our database that I manually upload to an excel doc to make a graph from lists I've made for each attribute. I'd like this visualized and automated but cannot find a filter for attributes in Analytics. Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Hi Jon,
Attribute filters are not built into Analytics. The way that the Network has suggested is to configure your attributes in the 10 custom constituent category fields in TX_ANALYTICS_DIVISION_ELEMENT. Documentation on how to do that is here:https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Tessitura_Analytics/Tessitura_Analytics.htm#System_Tables/TX_ANALYTICS_DIVISION_ELEMENT.htm%3FTocPath%3DTessitura%2520Analytics%2520Setup%7CTessitura%2520Analytics%2520Setup%7C_____2
One other option you have that would not require configuring the Analytics tables is to use the lists you've already created with the attributes as the filters on your dashboard/ widgets. You would need to make sure the lists you have created are marked for use in Analytics in List Manager and that you specify the list ID as the value in your filter. Documentation on that is here: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Tessitura_Analytics/Tessitura_Analytics.htm#Designing%20Dashboards/Filter%20by%20List.htm%3FTocPath%3DDesigning%2520and%2520Editing%2520Dashboards%7CDashboard%2520and%2520Widget%2520Filters%7C_____3
List filtering is awesome but I'm a big fan of the first option (Custom Category's). You can do Break-Bys and Filtering with multiple combos of the Attributes so much easier that way. Just a special thing though is you want to be careful if you are comparing one attribute against another and you have overlaps in Attributes ie: if a person can have multiple
