Hi All,
I'm reposting this here from the Reporting and Analytics forum.
I'm building a dashboard to display the historical giving by FY of a group we consider to be our Major Donors. I have three donors whose giving is through partial or full soft credit. Two of these individuals have a separate charitable trust I can include in the values filter I built to isolate the Major Donors. One of these donors has soft credits through a community foundation that many of our patrons utilize in their giving. If I isolate by the community foundation's constituent id, I would be pulling in the gift records of 20+ individuals who are not designated as our Major Donors.
Any ideas or tricks for pulling in a soft credit?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, soft credits aren't in the current iteration of Analytics; Chris Wallingford has a good explanation of the why and thoughts towards the future here: https://community.tessituranetwork.com/topical_groups/tessitura-analytics-for-fundraisers/f/discussions/22908/soft-credits-in-analytics
Yep, I know. That's exactly why I'm looking for a work around! Within that link I see a response from Claire Ryan about switching cubes that may work.
Regardless of the explanation, the reality is that I need to capture giving in our tools. I'm willing to try any or all hacks.
Claire's suggestion there on using the Plans data--if that's how you're using Plans--is rather ingenious, for sure.Another possibility would be to use an SSRS Widget in your dashboard if you have an SSRS report that is specific to identifying soft credits. There's a bit of setup required to identify the SSRS reports that can be pulled by the Widget: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v150/Content/Tessitura%20Analytics/Designing%20Dashboards/SSRS%20Widget.htm and https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v150/Content/Tessitura%20Analytics/Designing%20Dashboards/SSRS%20Guidelines.htm.
