Membership - next level visualization?

Hi everyone.

Hoping someone can help with an Analytics visualization question.

Has anyone created a widget to show which next level of membership was purchased from a constituents original membership? You can create bar charts, but I have not found a way to show a flow from one membership directly to another and on one widget.

Scenario - If you had 3 levels of membership, how many memberships started as Membership 1  and became Membership 2. How many memberships started as Membership 1 and became Membership 3

Thank you

    Hi Chris,

We've been using the scatter plot dashboards to understand the movement of members from one level to another last month (in September)  and two queries have been thrown up.

When our champion members stay as champions the green bubble's Membership Variance Amount indicates an increase in money, even though they have not moved or were charged more money (image below). The amount has been redacted below.

When our Discovery members stay in Discovery the red bubble's Membership Variance Amount does not have a minus. We assume this means we lost money, but they have also stayed in the same level

Any thoughts on why this might be?

    Many thanks for any suggestions.

  • Hi Siorna,

Two thoughts for you. The first is that you could set up a pivot table widget on this dashboard with:

    • Constituent Display Name
    • Membership Level
    • Next Membership Level
    • SUM Amount
    • SUM Next Amount
    • Variance Amount (as SUM Next Amount - SUM Amount)

Then click on any of the scatter dots you're curious about to see the details of that dot in the pivot table.

The other thought is just something to help with the conditional coloring. I accepted a default setting where it colored based on the range of values. Meaning that something <0 could be green and something >0 could be red depending on the data from one moment to the next.

You probably want to change that to a conditional color coding where <0 is always one hue and >0 is another. Ditto for the Tree Map.
