Membership - next level visualization?

Former Member
Former Member $organization

Hi everyone.

Hoping someone can help with an Analytics visualization question.

Has anyone created a widget to show which next level of membership was purchased from a constituents original membership? You can create bar charts, but I have not found a way to show a flow from one membership directly to another and on one widget.

Scenario - If you had 3 levels of membership, how many memberships started as Membership 1  and became Membership 2. How many memberships started as Membership 1 and became Membership 3

Thank you

  • Hi Siorna,

I happen to have a few examples of this handy to get you started. Sunbursts, Trees, and Pivots are all good for showing a hierarchy of information - in this case a hierarchy of one set of memberships and their resulting memberships. The Scatter Plot can also give you a sense of migration.

Sunbursts are fun for mousing over and traversing the hierarchies / paths that result from your data:

In the Tree and Scatter, the size of the blocks/dots is based on the count of constituents, while their color is based on the variation in Membership Amount between the originating and subsequent memberships where the greater the decrease, the more red, and the greater the increase, the more green.

If you decide to import this dashboard, you'll need to click on the data source at the top and change it to your own Memberships cube (let me know if you need instruction), and then update the dashboard filter to a Membership Organization of your own.

    Best,
    Chris
