Is anyone using Tableau or Power BI that would be willing to share your experience?
I'm interested in hearing how either has worked for your organization, how the implementation process was and what success you have had since implementation.
Have you already upgraded to version 15? If you have, how has the new analytic features been in addition to your other BI software?

Hi Rachel,
We've been using Tableau for a couple years. Initially, many of us here were very exited to get it, but we had quite a bit of trouble linking Tableau to the exact data that we needed for our data visualizations. It took longer than we thought and most people gave up on it. I think there is one other person other than me that still uses Tableau but she uses it in conjunction with TMS. We are currently on v14.1 and I cannot wait for v15 and hope that it is much better and more user friendly than Tableau.
In the end, i think Tableau is a great tool but probably much more powerful and complex than want we need.

Hi Mark, In our experience, one of the most challenging parts of using a tool like Tableau is getting the reporting data model right. Especially in a large database like Tessitura. One of the huge advantages of using Analytics is that we've built the reporting model for you, so its ready to go out of the box. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with Tessitura Analytics!

I originally asked this question because we are looking to link multiple data sources to one dashboard. We are very much looking forward to the new analytics features in v15, but as far as I understand, it is limited to just the Tessitura database. Will we have the capability to connect outside data? Ideally, we would like to have all our sources connected and centralized, where we can provide more "full picture" dashboards... certainly including data from Tessitura, but also relevant data from other sources as well.
