Preparation for v15

Hi, all-

Is anyone who has upgraded to v15, or is in the planning process, willing to talk about how you prepared/ are preparing for the upgrade?

We are upgrading from 12.5.1, and are reviewing our processes as we prepare for the new analytics features. We do not even have v15 in test yet, so are in the very early stages of upgrading.

I'm interested in getting insight on how you many have cleaned up data, or changed policies and procedures to best accommodate v15 features.

For those already upgraded, are there things you would have done differently now that you are using the new dashboards?

Looking forward to hearing any and all insight you all are willing to share.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rachel,

Everything i know about upgrades I learned from the TLCC session "Managing Upgrades and Components". You can find the powerpoint here: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Community-and-Events/Conference-Archive/tlcc2018archive

We're about half way through our testing of v15, coming from 12.5.1 as well. I took about a day and a half after the test upgrade to work through the necessary configuration changes, including single sign on, t_defaults updates, security access and the biggy: output set changes. We didn't do any data cleanup specifically for the upgrade, but the output set changes necessitated some rethinking of how we use different elements. It's hard to plan for that though, because you don't know how your existing custom elements will migrate over until the test upgrade is completed.

We're still in testing, so I don't know exactly what the end result will be, but hopefully this helps you get started!

  • Dorothy,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am finding it a bit difficult to plan for everything without having v15 in our test environment yet. I suppose I'll have to be patient until we have that up and running. Thanks for sharing your insight, and I hope the rest of your testing goes smoothly.
