Hello,
Can anyone here share anymore information on the new BI views coming in Version 14. We're starting to plan our upgrade and I'm wondering if we'll need to do any extra work to make the most of these. I.e. move to the Standard Ticket History tables.
Thanks in advance,
Kelly
We published documentation for the views today. Let me know if you have follow-up questions.

Thanks for posting this John, it certainly helped me understand the scale and granularity that will be coming with these. It definitely seems that this has gotten to be collectively exhaustive with ~70 views and 35 columns on average in each.
To what degree do you expect this to be altered in subsequent releases? I saw that you had a note to use caution with using them until the release of the analytics suite. I would imagine there would be at a minimum some tweaking, but what would you expect to change? Would you be removing anything, or only adding where more data would be helpful?
We likely won't be upgrading to V14 until October at the earliest, so for us this is not time critical. I am just trying to plan out some of the custom reports that I will be writing in the near term, and weigh our options in terms of analytics solutions given timing and resource requirements in the long term.

As you might imagine, this is a tough question to answer...the views are at a pretty stable point right now, but I still assume there will be changes. Most likely additions or a change in a join. If I were a licensee I would start using them. I think the benefits outweigh the risk of the views changing slightly.
Just looking at the documentation on the Analytics views.
Looks great, but I'm wondering if there should be some abstraction to a higher level. e.g. a 'Product' view, where you can compare all product sales (Tickets, Memberships, contributions, Gift Certs, etc)
Also, I don't see any where where to report on gift cert sales?
Many thanks,Dara
