With the changes that are to be made to pricing in version 12 it will be VERY helpful to have a report or process that will calculate the amount of money lost to discount. In other words, what was the full price, what was paid, an how much money was lost to discount.
Are there any plans to provide such a helpful thing?

We have not specified any new pricing reporting yet, that does not mean it won't happen but we just are not there in the development process (generally we hold report specification until we are mostly development complete on a feature). We do plan to retain the current reporting and therefore will continue to report on the lost to discount amount in season overview if nothing else.
