Version 11 and Emails

I have a Version 11 and email related problem that I keep running into and hoping someone can help me solve it via list builder/output set builder.

I only want people who meet my criteria who have an email address. However the household may meet my criteria but the email itself lives on the affiliated individual. How do I account for that to make sure that I'm getting an output of records with email addresses not just records that meet my criteria but have affiliated records with emails?

I hope that makes sense!

Thank you!

  • Make a list of people who meet your criteria, and in List Manager, go to the Add Individuals tab and select Adult Members for Add Individuals with These Affiliation Types.

After generating that list, make another list using Eaddress Information, selecting at least EAddress Type and the type(s) of eaddresses you want. Then add your list under Other, using “has.” (I confess, I often use “in” here, and it doesn’t seem to make a difference.)

So this list might have the following criteria:

EAddress Type In Primary Email Address

List Has [your list of people with the criteria you are looking for]

When I’m pulling e-mail addresses, I always use lists that include all individuals with a primary affiliation to households to define “people who meet my criteria,” and then I run those lists against the e-mail types I am looking for.
