Membership History record - Less detail at a glance

Just wondering how folks are adjusting to the new Membership History display.   I've been told that most folks see the limited display as an enhancement   -- not have the current membership level code (even in detail) and only the level description is preferred.

As someone who does a lot of troubleshooting and explaining of the history records, the new display does not let me know at a glance if someone has declined benefits -- and while I can drill down on the current membership - the only way to determine historical activity is to drill down in multiple memberships.  (true too for magazine issues tracking).

Benefit holders or gift membership also cannot be determined at glance either.

We also have a patron level with the same description but actually has 2 coding levels to allow for extra benefits at the higher giving.    This is a retraining issue to have folk look at amount.

While I most likely will put in an  enhancement request to ask for a way to expand the records  -- are any other sites seeing a need for this as well?

  • I think we would agree here: seeing the recog_amt especially, and also decline benefits, and benefactor, are missed.

  • I have been meaning to write a business case for showing the recognition amount instead of the actual dollar amount of gifts attached to the membership. We have a matching grant going right now so for many of our donors the recognition amount is higher than just their gift.  I would rather have at a glance info on the recognition amount, since that is what decisions would be based on.

  • Same here.  With all the new pop ups, reps on outbound calling with an automated dialer are finding it difficult to open all the pop ups and read all the info about a patron prior to the patron picking up the phone.  There is some basic info that would be great to have 'at a glance'.

A note about the declined benefits indicator - we added that to the custom header so the reps can easily see.

  • My two cents: I find it really unwieldly to have to click into the detail screen, especially to see the full amount that they gave.  I'm more interested in the full amount than in a of "amount" vs "AVC" amount.  It's much harder to look at someone's membership history and see their gift amount now.

"Tornado Alley will blow you away," said Pioneer Press movie critic Chris Hewitt about the new Omnitheater film. Audiences will ride along with storm chasers in the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) and experience "how thrilling it can be to chase after big storms." Make plans to see Tornado Alley in the Omnitheater, and see the TIV in the lobby of the Science Museum.  Reserve your tickets and watch the trailer at www.smm.org.

  • It begins to seem like many of us are in agreement – the streamlined records take away too much info  -- I’m really hoping that Network can see its way to giving us a way to expand all the records and may be just have the note field have to be a pop up.

  • Thanks for all the comments.  I want you to know that we do listen to feedback very carefully and we appreciate the time you all take to provide it.  We will certainly look to see what we can do to accommodate some of that feedback in v12.
