All,
On our V10 website we sell Children's classes that are purchases by the parent. The child must have the same address as the parent and we do this through a customization. The workflow for V11 we want is
1. Create a Household record for the parent and add the parent as a Adult affiliate to the household
2. Add the child information as a Minor Child affiliate to the household and
In V11 we are trying to make the child a primary affiliate via the SOAP/API and we find we that we can not make this happen.
I am interested in learning on how other organizations are selling children's classes in V11 Websites
Bob
Hi Michael –
We have a solution after we create the child on the web we are going to update it via a custom stored procedure that we will call.

Hi Bob,
We ran into the same issue since we sell children's classes in the same manner. As of right now we don't have a solution, other than the Tessitura Network's suggestion of rewriting the online components using REST instead of SOAP.
The newly created child records are not marked as Primary, but our sales are continuing to go through fine and the only ramification seems to be the lack of data inheritance and other features that come with the Primary flag. (The affiliation still gets created.) I have vague plans to investigate some kind of automated script run on a regular basis that would add the Primary flag, but haven't gotten that far yet. Nor do I know if it's worth going that route vs. rewriting the code entirely.
So no solution here, but we're in the same boat.
