Hello!
I find the Order Export Utility (OEU) to be extremely useful for exporting data to our outside presenters and for use internally. But I’ve run into performances and engagements where the summary of (and saved data of) Total Seats and Total Amount is DIFFERENT depending on whether the report is run in Output Mode: Individual seats versus Output Mode: Seat ranges. Comparing this to Performance Sales Summary reports I find that OEU using Individual seats mode is always accurate. When Seat ranges is selected the output and totals are usually lower than Individual seats, but sometimes instead it is higher than what it should be.
I’ve analyzed by hand some of the discrepancies where Seat ranges underreports the total and have concluded that this involves orders with discontiguous seating. And yet there are many occasions when the report runs without a discrepancy and correctly outputs multiple rows to excel, reporting each of the contiguous seat ranges in separate rows. I have not yet examined by hand an example of overreporting in Seat ranges mode.
Granted, we have many orders with discontiguous seating and many orders with mixed price types as well, so I’m grateful that OEU works as well as it does, but I can’t “trust” it in Seat range mode.
Has anyone else observed this, or know the reason for it? - Jon
