TIM needs Fully Qualified Server Name?

Hello,

I am just in the process of upgrading our test environment to v11 and for this particular installation we decided to use an http connection on the internal services website (This is only for test and will not be the case for live).  Therefore I have not created a secure certificate.

However, when I get to configure TIM, it still asks for a Fully Qualified Server Name, even though the server prep quide says I can miss that part out if using HTTP.

Am I missing something here??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

A couple of things to comment on here…

    1.       Be aware that web reports, called either from the Tessitura client application or externally, will only work over https because it passes login credentials.  The other services can be set up with just http.

    2.       To enable http you must be sure to manually set the value of the ‘protocol’ property in the default.config to ‘http’ prior to installing the services.  The entry would look like this: <property name="protocol" value="http"/>.  This would typically be set on the Text View tab of TIM.  Just skipping certificate creation is not enough.

    3.       If you set up for http, then you can use just the domain machine name or IP address for the Server Name in TIM.
