TRU_ATTRIBUTE_MAPPING help!

Hello,

Im just trying to get my head around something and I am hoping someone can help me with this!

I've just started looking at TRU_ATTRIBUTE_MAPPING at the same time as how our attributes are currently setup.  It seems that all of our attributes have a N1N2 indicator of 'Both', regardless of the record having a N2 or not.

What will this mean in terms of the migration?  If there is no N2 present, will this cause an error if nothing is there to attribute to?

Thank you for the help in advance!

  • Scott,

With all mapping, if you map to the Name 2 record and a record only has one name the data will not move in the migration.  For attributes specifically you only want to map the attributes which are specifically marked as belonging to Name 1 or Name 2 (like Birthdate_1 and Birthdate_2).  Any attributes that are not name specific I would not map (leave the mapping fields blank) so that the Name1/Name2 flag is followed and in your case then most attributes would remain on the household.
