No More Stamp?

We also noticed that no longer is there the stamp on the general tab that allows you to print an address label or envelope super quick versus having to export or type one out.

There are some in my organization that used this frequently and others (like myself) that appreciated it for those occasional one offs that we needed to run.

Thanks!

Marta

  • I'm not on v11, but is there still the option for printing the envelope under the Constituents dropdown > Constituent Report?

  • Yes, the Stamp has been put to rest in v11, but the Envelope is still available as a standard report in the Constituents menu under Constituent Reports.

  • Having recently moved to V11  - our staff no longer has access to the Standard Envelope in the Constituent Reports - what do I have to change and where?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Angela,

We ran into the same issue after upgrading to v11.  I believe you need to grant security group(s) access to the Standard Envelope report in the Security Application. Once you do that, you should be able to access the Standard Envelope report from the Constituents pull-down menu.

  • If you only need the address for a single record, you can also go to the Constituents drop-down menu and hover over “Constituent Report” which will allow you to click on the Standard Envelope, bringing up a printable envelope. Obviously this only works on single records, but it may be helpful as well.

  • There is no actual stamp anymore though. We were disappointed to find that out when we first converted. But David’s solution does work.

  • I’ve had this problem too and knew I needed to grant security to fix it, but I haven’t been able to find the report in the security listing.

Which folder does it appear under?

  • Hi Suzanne,

One easy way to find it is to go to Assign Rights to Groups, select, “Reports” from the Security Type pull-down, then find, “Standard Envelope” in the alphabetized list of reports.  (This list doesn’t group reports by folder, which I find easier to use in many cases.)  You can then easily grant rights to that report to multiple security groups.

    Thanks,

    David

  • In v11, giving access to the "Standard Envelope" under the Constituent Report menu is not done through the Security Module, it is available through settings in a System Table called T_CONSTITUENT_REPORT. There is a column that gives that report security equal to another report. So, for instance, if development uses the envelope, you could choose a development report that has similar security rights to what you're looking for. Hope that points you in the right direction...

  • Thanks Beth! I had forgotten about that… We didn’t really have an existing report to logically associate it with, so I created a Standard Envelope report in report setup, granted the security groups we wanted to use that option access to it, then associated it to Standard Envelope in T_CONSTITUENT_REPORT.  Sorry everyone for the incorrect information!

    Thanks,

    David

  • That's brilliant, David! I had trouble picking the right report for security, too - I never thought of creating another option via report setup. Thanks for my Tessitura A-HA Moment of the Day!

  • Hi Beth,

You’re welcome – hopefully that bit of information redeemed my earlier error! :) The other thing I did after making the appropriate changes in T_CONSTITUENT_REPORT was inactivating the report in Report Setup so that it doesn’t show up in Reports & Utilities. After doing that, it is still accessible in the security application and everything seems to work properly through the Constituents pull-down menu.

  • Phew, I thought I was going mad because I still couldn’t find it in the alphabetic list.

That’s a great idea David, thanks for your help.
