Test Environment configurations.

Hello,

I have created a cloned virtual instance of our production db for testing.  We are on SQL 2008 R2.  What shortcuts and .ini files do I need to modify.  Currently our production sql instance is called SFOTess\sfotesssql.  The cloned version is called sfobeta3\sfotesssql.  I know the shortcut needs to be modified.  Is it just the master.ini files?  If someone could give me a list that would be helpful.  When we upgraded the server to SQL 2008 the TN network helped immensely but did much of the work in the interest of getting us back up.  Now I would like to pick apart this clone of the production db in preparation for the v11 upgrade.

Thanks

John Brandt

  • Thanks Ron.  I think I found the table.  Is this dbo.tx_machine_location?  In the Impressario db?  How can I add a row?

You can add a row into TX_MACHINE_LOCATION.  Pick the next higher number for machine_no, your PC name for machine_name, and a valid location (from TR_LOCATION) for location.

Ok I have modified the master.ini the tessitura.ini and the tessitura.bat file.  The program launches and the files synchronize then I get an error about "this PC ("SFOBeta3") does not have a location assigned.  I see many suggestions about modifying tables in tessitura but can I go into SQL and modify that directly?  Or Modify an .ini file?
