Households with no first name on N2

Hi there!

Is there a recommendation for households where there is a couple on an account but N2 doesn't have a first name? For Example:

N1: Mr. John Smith

N2: Mrs. ____Smith

I have 57 of these records so I could manually go in and add the males name to the N2 line making it Mrs. John Smith. Just wanted to see if anyone else has records like this and what the best practices are.

Thanks!

  • We had about 6,000 accounts like that from a conversion and I enlisted the help of our Call Center to edit these accounts.  I had them remove name2 completely since v11 will split the accounts.  I really hated the thought of leaving them.

  • I like that approach Teresa. We've got a lot fewer, but still a good handful, and like you guys, they're all from a conversion. We've found about half of them have an alias (apparently also from the conversion?) that indicates a second name. For the others, I think deleting them is probably best, as there's really no reason to have a second account for the household if there's not even a name to attach to it.

  • Does it make sense to change the N1 Prefix to Mr. and Mrs. and then delete everything in the Name 2 line?

That way at least in mailings it is still sending to Mr. and Mrs. John Smith....
