duplicate aliases

Ran the Migration - Check Database and came up with only a handful of duplicate aliases. On a few of the records I am noticing that either there isn’t a duplicate or the duplicate has 2 different alias types. So I guess the question(s) are, How is the report looking at aliases to say that there are duplicates when it appears that there isn't? Soundex()? And then what am I supposed to do with these 2 different issues?

Thanks,

Marty

  • Did you look only in the front end? Because my experience with duplicate aliases is that the screen will only display it once, even if in the actual table there is more than one row with the same alias+type. So if you were only looking at the alias screen, you may be seeing the same alias_fname alias_lname combination with two different types, but in the back end, there might be multiples of one or both of them.
