Thought of this question some time after the training session ended today. Scenario: Duplicate accounts exist, each has a name1 and name2 and they are not merged before the upgrade. Two new households are created out the two accounts, and four new accounts are created for the individuals. How would we proceed to merge them? Merge the individual accounts? What about the household accounts? Do those accounts need to be merged separately?
That is correct. And to facilitate this kind of merge we’ve added the new Household Helper to the Merge Constituents screen. When you merge two households the Household Helper opens so you can choose what to do with the primary affiliates of the delete household. Your options are to unaffiliate them, affiliate them with the keep household, or merge them into primary affiliates of the keep household (and you choose which individuals are merged).
