Hi David, 

Thanks for your post and indicating the importance of Algorithmic Physically Distanced Seating to Kansas City Ballet. This has been a complex and deep subject of discussion since the beginning of the Pandemic.

At this time, the Network is committed to continuing a dialog with the member community on this subject. We do not have immediate plans to undertake work related to automated or algorithmic physically distanced seating, and we are continuing to lead and closely follow discussions about it. 

Contactless entry was prioritized over several potential features, including physically distanced seating algorithms. There are many factors that support the prioritization of our features - in this case some of those factors include:

• There is much that can be done with the Tessitura application as it stands today to physically distance audiences. We held a Pop Up Skill Builder on this topic and recently also published a blog post that details how existing tools can be used to accomplish a physically distanced house. These resources also detail some of the other concerns that members need to account for when determining if physical distancing is feasible for them.
• We have museum and attraction members in all regions that are in the process of reopening. For these members, contactless entry was central to keeping patrons and staff safe and physically distanced. These members have less of a need for seated functionality, and would use the contactless entry now. 
• Based on reopening data that we've seen, Performing Arts organizations are trending toward opening much later this year or early in 2021. There are some, though few, that have elected to try and reopen sooner. We anticipate hearing more about physically distanced seating and other needs for Performing Arts members as they begin planning their reopening phases and can assess the state of the pandemic at that time. As you know, the circumstances are continuing to change on a fairly regular basis and are uncertain. We are committed to leading and continuing discussion on this topic as our members are ready to engage around it. 
• We have heard from many Performing Arts members that it isn't financially sustainable to physically distance houses, and that the other facility concerns like physically distancing concessions, bathrooms, and ingress and egress from the facility and performance space pose significant and potentially insurmountable challenges. We want to be sure that if we build something, that it is the right solution that would be utilized by as many members as possible. 

For these reasons, we have opted to continue the dialog with the community.
