July Service Pack Update ++

Hi Everyone,

The July service packs are well under way, and I wanted to give you an idea of what's coming in the next round of updates.

Note: Noticeably absent from this update is mention of unattended scanning and NSCAN updates. Not to worry! That is well under way and wrapping up development/QA. I will be making a separate post with an update for folks interested in that later today. Nothing but good news to report on that front.

July Service Pack:

  • More HTML templates types will make an entry in the contact log when they are sent to patrons, such as Ticket, Constituent, and Login Credential template types.(15.1 only)
  • A new utility that closes batches of CSIs that match the report criteria
  • The Event Cancellation Utility will support "Check" and "Other" payment methods, bringing it into alignment with the recently released On Account Funds Disbursement Utility.
  • The previous Gift Aid Claims reports (Gift Aid Claims, Gift Aid Claims R68, and Gift Aid Claims Spreadsheet) will be marked Deprecated in deference to the new, better, unified Gift Aid Claims (new) report released in June. UK members should make a note of this and start looking at the new report. (15.1 only)
  • Improvements to the Event Cancellation Dashboard in Analytics (15.1 only)

Not in the July SP but coming soon-ish

In addition to work on v16, we continue to deliver other valuable features that are useful now to members as a result of pandemic response measures. Below is a quick list of other features in development that we anticipate delivering in future service packs:

  • We will be expanding the functionality we released in June to print paid sub line items on partially paid orders to also include printing of paid sub line items with Print at Home and HTML Template-based delivery methods. This will be in batch printing, the print order interface, and the order sli tab.
  • In order to support features related to Gated Digital Content, we will be adding a feature to Tessitura and the API that allows performance types to be restricted by the country of origin of the buyers. Ex. Product Type A can only be sold to people in countries X, Y, and Z. This primarily assists with putting boundaries on digital content sales and VAT tax liabilities.
  • Zone Groups will have an "Alias" field added for public display, like on websites.
  • Auto-Attend is being added as a feature to both the Tessitura Client and TRBO. This will allow tickets to be marked attended and printed at the time they are sold, automatically. No scanning or printing needed.
  • The Performance Seat Release Utility will be marked Deprecated in favor of the new and better Event Cancellation Utility. Members should familiarize themselves with the new Event Cancellation Utility as a replacement for the legacy utility.
  • A new sample dashboard for Event Forecasting will be included in Tessitura Analytics.

As a reminder, service packs are intended to be easy installation efforts with a limited need for testing. Many of our members that leverage our hosting services have service packs sent straight to their test sites, and subsequently their production sites, every month when they are released to take advantage of new functionality and defect fixes. Please consider a similar workflow for your organization so that you can continue to take advantage of the value delivered in service packs.

Have a great Friday!
