Configuration and Troubleshooting

Tessitura is a wonderfully flexible and dynamic system that fits a wide variety of organizations, uses and users.  We all expect that the Next Gen will push the boundaries of that flexibility far and wide.

Which is wonderful, until something is not working right, then "Katie bar the door".  Tessitura configuration problems can be difficult to troubleshoot, especially with complex web and/or DB logic added into the mix.

I'm guessing the Next Gen team is on top of this and I'd like to participate in any troubleshooting "stories" you guys do.

Cheers,

  • I agreee, Tessitura is a good product and Next Gen has the potential to be a GREAT product. I have a comment on the subject of trouble shooting. I have become reasonably familiar with a number of the database tables, but there are some that I still don't know and some that I still have to go back to my diagrams to see the relationships between. A feature we had in a previous fundraising system, I found to be extremely useful and wondered whether it would be possible to incorporate it in Next Gen. I was able to hover over a field (just about any field) and it would tell me what the database name of the field was and which table it resided in.

If that would be a possible, it would make for some time saving for me.....and I'm sure for a few others as well.
