Wondering if anyone has been following this webinar series from Appeon? As you may or may not know, SAP is partnering with Appeon for them to drive future development of PowerBuilder (the framework that the Tessitura Client application is built upon). Under SAP/Sybase, development really stagnated, but Appeon appears to be galvanized to bring PowerBuilder up-to-date and in line with contemporary frameworks.
Some highlights -- Native PDF generation (no more Ghostscript!), no more pbl binaries in favor of SCM-friendly text files, and other developer features to make the entire thing friendly for CI, TDD, and other contemporary software development patterns. And of course, all of this is about enhancing the PB platform, without requiring huge code rewrites that would be otherwise required to get these enhancements. Very exciting!
