Scheduled Reports

Are any enhancements to the scheduled reports functionality on the road-map?

It would be great to be able to roll up multiple similar reports into a cluster of attachments on a single email rather than each report running and deploying as a separate email.  You could go from dozens of daily emails to just a handful.

In a roadmap session re: "Administration and Supportability" led by Ron Wilson at TLCC2015 he described a Report Server replacement being worked on (possibly for v14) that was described as (this is from my brief notes, FYI) "consolidation of processing and messaging into a new service", that I['m guessing might be be SQL Agent-based, and as far as reports go would be for SSRS only.

No mention there of what you describe exactly, but your idea sounds good to me.

  • It would also be great to be able to select if the report should send where there is no data. For example if you use the Execute an Output set report to send you a list of constituents who make a certain type of donation. If there are none you don't need to get the report, but when there is you get the report to trigger you into an action.

The reports can then act as a kind of workflow system.

Maybe just on reports with a List parameter, as I imagine that would be easier to implement.
