I have a question regarding events in the new pricing structure for V12. Currently we operate our dynamic pricing by layering price maps. We usually backdate the layered price maps to 1/1 of the current year to accommodate our group sales department who often needs to return to older orders to increase or reduce seats. If we go into an order that was created prior to a price increase we would like the increase to be applied to any new seats added to the order. The only way that we have found to create this behavior is backdating our added layered price maps, however this does not allow us to track when prices where increased in the RMA system and in new reports coming with V12.
In V12 with the events will the start date on that event produce the same problem we are currently having (if a price map start date is 5/5/13 and the order date is 4/3/13 then the layered price map will not be added to any new seats added to the order)? Will we need to continue to backdate our events to accommodate group sales?
Yes, it's much the same with Price Events. Items in orders will always be priced as of the order date.
