Afternoon all,I am looking into how we might do a free membership on Tessitura which people can sign up to online via our TNEW site. This would be a new type of Membership for us that involves getting some additional information from the applicant before they are confirmed as a Member.
Ideally we would want people to sign up online, then the membership is reviewed and approved by a member of staff in the Tessitura application, and then the Membership becomes active.
We also need to collect some additional data from people signing up, so I have been looking at using a custom form on a TNEW contribution page that would add this information as a CSI.
My main concern is that as there is no cost for the Membership are we able to get people to 'join' online using the an Individual Membership contribution page? And is there a way to keep a Membership as pending until a member of our team has a chance to 'approve' it?
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestion would be welcome, as would being pointed in the direction of anyone in the Network who might be doing something similar.
Many thanks,

Hi Donald,
we have something similar in operation - so as far as - needing a free membership created online that needs a manual review before it can be active. Our memberships are for a local audience that can visit the museum for free if they are an Auckland resident.
The set up in Tessitura is a free membership level, as you are looking into. We also had to work out how delay having the membership active as soon as it was 'purchased' as we needed to manually verify the address, to ensure that the person 'purchasing' it was from Auckland.
We created a performance with a free ticket that could be sold through TNEW. We get all the information we need through the existing registration form but you could make it an AUX perf so you can capture additional data through CSI as you proposed already.
At that point we have the persons details & an account created. We instruct them to pick up their card next time they visit. When they call in onsite, the team locate the constituent in Tessitura & then issue the free membership once they have sited proof of Auckland address. This is done in Quicksale so it's quick - locate the constituent, add the membership & the admission tickets for the visit & print the card (digital cards are on our list!).
So not pending to active membership, but instead, details captured, address verified, then membership added.
Good luck with your project.
Jo,Thank you for getting back to my post. That is really helpful to hear how you are doing it and all makes sense to me. I will have a play with the above set up and see if that suits the wider project. I will let you know if I have any more questions if that is ok!Thanks again,Donald
