We are using this break from programming to do data clean up at my organization, and the merge utility has been very helpful. However, it has a tendency to suggest some merges that are clearly not related. Sometimes it recommends households with the same names, for example it would suggest "John Doe" and "Jill Doe" even if they are already in a household together with the same address. Obviously we don't want to merge these two people. Is there a "don't suggest again" option or an "ignore" function? I am sifting through hundreds of names to find a few matches because it keeps listing the same people every day.
Any other merge tips would be appreciated as well.
Hi Forrest,
The Void Merge attribute will prevent a duplicate like this from being suggested. You can add it to either constituent in the pair. (It also prevents them from being merged accidentally, in case someone manages to schedule them manually.) If you don't see the attribute available for Households or other types of constituents, you may need to add an entry for it in TX_KEYWORD_CUST_TYPE.
