Assigning memberships to ticket donations

Has anyone else been offering memberships to those who donate their tickets during this crisis? Our ticket donations are in the same campaign as our ticket round up donations which don't get memberships, so we decided to add memberships manually as ticket donations come in. However, we've had some complications with the manual process because it doesn't allow us to create the pending status for early renewals and it doesn't show the NRR status or the real membership inception date. We are going back to the campaign and wondering if it would just be easier to have those memberships load automatically on the contribution screen and then deleting the memberships that have been created for round up donations that shouldn't be getting a membership. Would those deleted memberships create any issues with reporting or Analytics? Our other thought is to just enter those ticket donations as annual fund donations for now, but that might also get confusing with reporting down the road. Thanks!
