I've been tasked with adding a complementary membership to a constituent, and I'm seeking any answers to errors that may occur. Wanting to know if there are errors that may appear from a membership being upgraded via another payment, or any other problems due to this not being tied to a direct payment, but after the fact.

Hi Tyler,
We add comp memberships often and have had no problems, but in our set-up the system will upgrade their membership if they make a contribution that moves them into our next giving level.

My team was wanting me to find a way to prevent an upgraded membership in lieu of a membership. Is there any way to prevent this other than adding notes in the system?
