Hi, We don't have admission to our zoo but have parking costs, which is a benefit of certain memberships. We have a lot of discounted memberships and we also have levels that have 12-month and 14-month memberships. The latter usually as part of a promotion with a discount.
This makes for a complicated membership structure with overlapping rankings and cost ranges that overlap. Because of this, when we process manual transactions over the phone or from lockbox, the original membership level will often default to the wrong membership. We change it in the Membership tab while processing the contribution but that will not change the Original Membership Level, only the Level when you look at the membership in the History tab of the constituent record.
This is causing a lot of different problems and I have had a few conversations with Tessitura but wondering if anybody has come up with a unique solution to ensure their memberships are processed properly and with minimal extra manual steps to fix these issues.
Happy to provide more information if needed but would love to hear any innovations you may have come up with, the only one I could think of would cause a lot of issues when it comes to reporting and would mess up the rankings so not a feasible option.
