In auditing our Memberships, we've found a few records where Contributions were allocated to the incorrect Membership (e.g. an early renewal was processed as an upgrade). Is there any way to reallocate the contribution to go toward a different Membership without having to "refund" the Contribution to On Account and re-process? Some of these errors occurred during the previous fiscal year, so we don't have clearance from Finance to do refunds.

We run into this issue all the time with our subscription donations because of payment plan schedules. There is a way that your system administrator can go in and manually move gifts from one membership to another but it's a laborious process and the new/correct membership has to be created already before the move can happen.
