One-Time Guest Passes Member Benefit

Former Member
Former Member $organization

Hello,

We did a member survey, and an overwhelming amount of our members would like one-time guests passes as a benefit. Instead of printing and mailing guest passes, I'm thinking of putting 'money' on account and the member can visit, bring a guest that isn't covered under their membership, and the cashier can use the on acct money to pay for the admission until it's used up. Is there a mass way of adding money on acct to member records? I'd use a gift passes payment method or something to add the money. Or is there a better way to put guest passes on a record and the member uses them up at their leisure? I want to make it as easy a possible for the cashier to say "yes, you have 1 pass left" or "no, it looks like you've used all your passes." I'd also like whatever way we go with to be easy to report out on. Any and all ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,

  • I don't have a quick answer about mass adding money on account but if this is going to be a long term thing, you might look into setting up the Entitlements functionality. It lets you define how many of different types of benefits a donor/member gets based on their membership level and then they can appear in the header so cashiers know what they have left and can allocate them. It can also be configured for the web. It would take a bit of time to define your needs and get it set-up but if this is a long term thing it might be work it and have possibilities beyond guest passes. I believe it is an add on feature you can ask Tessitura about.
