Complex Membership Update Utility in a Museum setting

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has special expertise in using the Membership Update Utility, particularly in coordination with entitlements customizations and general ticketed attendance?  We have the utility running daily, but have noticed some "holes" in our logic that are preventing some Pending members to be able to ticketed correctly.

We use memberships as products, and we use the utility to change the Status of the memberships from Active to Inactive when they expire.  The same utility also changes the Status of Pending to Active, however, the utility is scheduled to run at 11:00pm, which works great for those memberships that need to be changed from Active to Inactive, but for the members who need to become Active (from the Pending status) we have a delay since their membership should be Active by the time our institution opens its doors.  Currently, this happens until 11:00PM.  If the member visits on that day, their entitlements are not going to be available because they still have the Status of Pending.  We are thinking of running a second utility to affect just the Pending memberships, but we are not sure if this is possible.  Has anybody encounter this issue and were you able to resolve it?  Any help would be appreciated.

    We did some customizing on the Utility to address exactly that issue: you need to move everyone from Active to Inactive and then ALSO move the right people from Pending to Active, all in one run. I can have my IT peeps send you what we did if that would be helpful. I'd also suggest that you put this in as an enhancement request to Tessitura. I have done so, but they said no one else has had an issue with this. We're more likely to get it fixed in the built-in functionality if more people speak up!
