N-Scan Constituent ID Barcodes

We are in the process of creating a temporary membership card that has the n-scan constituent id barcode printed on it with the prefix and leading zeros.  The question is, is there a way to make this barcode work with a usb scanner as well, so associates at the desk can scan the barcode to bring up a constituent and associates at entry points can scan the barcode to admit members to an event?

  • We tried that, but it gave an error.   When I type the ID number in (C000015282) it accepts it, but when we scanned it, it did not.

     

    I just went down and scanned it again and it’s now working. . .

    Hi Brandi,

     

    You can scan the N-Scan constituent ID directly into the Owner field on ticket orders with no special configuration. That field is configured to decode it and turn it back into a constituent ID. You can find details on how different fields in the application treat scanned data here:
