We are in the process of creating a temporary membership card that has the n-scan constituent id barcode printed on it with the prefix and leading zeros. The question is, is there a way to make this barcode work with a usb scanner as well, so associates at the desk can scan the barcode to bring up a constituent and associates at entry points can scan the barcode to admit members to an event?
Brandi,
We don't use NSCAN, but it should definitely be possible to use a USB scanner to scan barcodes tied to constituent records.
See this "barcode hack" I presented at TLCC 2016: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4Gtz45Z_eUkZ3BoeXJIMzluTzA/view?usp=sharing
Thank you,

Thanks Brian.
I'm looking specifically for a way to have the usb scanner scan the n-scan barcode with the leading characters and have the Tessitura application read it as a valid constituent id.
Ah, okay; outside of my expertise there then.
But, if there isn't a way to make that work as desired, you should be able to translate the NSCAN barcode information into a barcode format that will work with a USB scanner to reference that ID number in Tess.
