Marking Membership Discounts

Hi All,

We offer a 25% off discount on our dual and household memberships if you are an employee of one of a number of corporations in the area. We would like to track which corporations seem to be using this discount the most (without making a membership level for each of the businesses that participate). We are also wondering if there is a way to make this discount available online. But people need to demonstrate that they qualify for the membership (show us an employee ID or something of the like) and that doesn't really work online. Whatever it ends up being, it needs to be something that wouldn't be available to everyone.

We aren't set up with our memberships being set up as a product and we are waiting until new membership functionality is available in the up coming year(s) before we make any major changes to how our memberships are set up.

Does anyone out there have any cool ideas about this? Work arounds?

Thanks!

Jenny

Ticketing and Membership are integrated with our website, we just don't use TNEW. We wanted tickets and memberships to be available online before that existed, so we built a website that made that possible with the info going into Tessitura as the transactions happened. If you want to check it out, it's smm.org.

    Jenny,

That's outside my area of expertise, unfortunately; bummer. So your membership and ticketing is happening separate from Tess on your website side?

Sorry to not be more useful!

    Thanks Brian,

That sounds really slick, but do you know if there is a way to do this if you're not using TNEW?

    Jennifer,

It's not a perfect solution, but you can set a Promo Code on TNEW and use that to unlock the discounted membership price; then you send the Promo Code information to each corporation and it would (theoretically) only be available to the employees they pass the code on to.

We just did a trial run of this for our 2017/18 season reveal event and, even though our constituents weren't very familiar with Promo Codes on our website, it went pretty well all things considered.

    Thank you,

    Brian
