Adding/Redeeming Merch

Not totally sure which forum this belongs to, but I'll start with the creative Membership folks. I'm soliciting brilliant ideas around distributing tote bags to members.  Here's the situation:

We're offering a tote bag to two groups of people in our fall onsale.  

1. Members who join at a certain level.  All members at this level are "eligible" for the tote bag, but they have to come to our building to get it, meaning they're probably also holding a ticket.

2. Members at any level, if they purchase a certain number of shows. If they purchase less than that number, no tote bag. Once they hit the threshold number = eligible for tote bag.

The tote bags will be distributed when the patron comes to our building.  Ideally at the Box Office window, although some may have an electronic ticket.

I am torn between using Premiums or tickets in a "Tote Bags" performance.

It seems more feasible jimmy something up to add the Premium at the moment the patron qualifies.  But the ticket seems more easily issued/redeemed/tracked.

Any one doing anything similarly complicated with add-on merch/premiums?

  • Maybe you could have a Tote Bag Ranking just for those members. It would require some SQL coding in LP_CUSTOMER_RANK to add up the ticket count Rank for people on that level with an active Membership for performances within your fall season. And the Ranking would decrease if for some reason they cancelled tickets. You could then use an Attribute to show that they collected their Tote Bag.

     

    If you wanted to get fancy, you could display on the Constituent Header an icon for when someone has a Ranking >= the number of tickets to qualify, but doesn’t have the Tote Bag collected Attribute.

     

    And with the Ranking and collection Attribute you can use it as List Criteria too to see how many people are yet to collect their Tote Bags.

    We decided that the # of constituents who will end up qualifying for the tote bag will be small enough to satisfy this from our Marketing department - which took away the need to have the tote bag qualification identifiable by Box Office window at ticket pick-up.

    With that out of the question, we're using lists to keep track of those at the qualifying member level / those who purchased all 6.  A premium that will be applied to records as tote bags are sent.  The list will exclude anyone who already has the premium on record.

    Interested if anyone ends up doing something like this via ticket pick-up, though.
