Sources Created By WordFly

We are looking at cleaning up our Tessiture sources to better gather data during the point of sale. As of right now every time we send out an email it creates a generic source code of "Weekly Email" or "Faculty Staff Email" and the only way to tell which event this email is referring to is by checking the creation date of the email against what was sent out that day. This leads to the wrong source code being selected at the time of sale, which in turn leads to faulty data.

So my question is how do we change the source codes that are crated in WordFly so they are 1. more descriptive 2. have a termination date so they don't remain as options long after the events they promoted are finished.

Thank you,

If you're working with Triggered Emails, you may not have the option of naming the list manager list differently each time the triggered email goes out, so you are essentially stuck with the list name (we are running up against this as we've just started using triggered emails).

We do, however, have a script to automatically run each night on all the sources in our triggered email appeals, and it updates any missing end date to 3 days after the source date - so hopefully, for most people, there won't be more than one or maybe two of those sources available in the box office to choose from. Even if your emails are not triggered, you could setup this kind of script to do those date updates automatically. And, if you get fancy, you might find a way to have it update the name of the source automatically too, once it is sent, in some creative way... :)
