Triggered emails - excludaing days of the week

Hello,

We are currently sending out triggered emails to patrons 2 days prior to their attendance at performances. For a particular day of the week I've been asked to include a partner promotion - is there are way to exclude a particular day for a triggered email and set up a separate weekly triggered email campaign?

  • If you are using WordFly, then no, not without it getting complicated.

     

    But complicated:

    You could set up a separate triggered campaign for every day of the week and run each on a weekly schedule—then you have the flexibility to edit each one itself.

     

    You could rig up something within your dynamic lists that invalidates the regular criteria and generates an empty data set for those day of the week customers (don't even know where to start). Then, the triggered campaign would run but not actually send and you could set up a separate one for the ad-inclusive version.

     

    You could rig something using system tables to be a line of code/data that you connect to specific performances (or any sort of query you can write, I guess) and have it feed into your campaign via the Tessitura export/WordFly list import. I've got this running in a major way for our pre- and post-show campaigns, but it was worth the time for us because it's how I manage to have one annual campaign that's still customized for 17 different productions.
