The drop-down listing of Schools located in the Tessitura “Research” Tab > “Schools” radio button is full of duplicates due to variations in spellings. For example:Louisiana St. Louisiana State ULouisiana Stat U. We want to begin syncing this drop down with a sign up for our 35 and Under program and need to clean this list up. It looks like the list came this way out-of-the box with the software. Have you found an easy way to tidy up this list and would you mind sharing those details with us?Much appreciated! We did a bunch of manual(ish) clean up on this... It's a pain because we found some people used Louisiana State U and some used Louisiana St. You basically have to decide which one you are keeping - make sure all the people who point to the wrong ones get updated, and them delete/inactivate the bad ones.
I wish I could say I had a quick and easy fix, but I don't think I saved any of the work I did on this project. :(

Hi Chuck,
You should be able to make them inactive in the TR_SCHOOL system table, so that they can't be selected.

Thanks, Heather!
Heather,
Do you know if the data for the TR_SCHOOL table is regularly updated and loaded as part of new Tessitura versions or is this only a one-time load when you first install? I'm considering updating the data but I'm concerned about maintenance if new versions of the data get released as part of Tessitura upgrades.
Thanks,
Eric
Eric,
We historically have not made any changes to this table on upgrades nor would I expect that we will in the future. In general if we make changes to a table like this we would make sure the changes were additive so that we did not overwrite data you may have added or changed.
Best,
Anna
