Direct Mktg, CRM Mgmt & List Extractions

As my company migrates from our existing database into Tessitura, it seems apparent that my current role as Senior Manager of Direct Marketing will morph to incorporate CRM management.

I'd love to hear some feedback from other organizations on the relationship with direct marketing and CRM Management.

Are these separate roles within your organization?  Or do you have one individual working under this dual role?

How are list extractions handled?  Do you have a database manager working with the CRM and direct marketing managers to pull lists?  Or is this a function managed by CRM and direct marketing staff?

    Tiffini,

Here at San Jose Rep we have a power-user model and our Marketing Director does not handle CRM, it is split between me (the Marketing Associate) and the Box Office Manager. I work in conjunction with our Marketing Director who handles Direct Marketing pieces to pull lists, track promotions, and decide what information is important for tracking and segmentation.

Our Box Office Manager oversees the box office reps who handle a lot of the data entry for Customer information , since they are the ones fielding the calls. Our Telemarketing room does the same thing as well.

(PS We do not have a database manager)
